Oasis is a British rock band. One of the most influential and commercially successful bands of the 90s.
The band is one of the "Big Four" of Brit-pop along with Blur, Suede and Pulp.
The band was founded in 1991 by Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam. Noel is the guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, and band ideologist. His younger brother Liam is the lead vocalist and songwriter on several songs. The Gallagher brothers are regularly in the tabloid pages and have gained a reputation as "bad guys."
The band is particularly influenced by the work of The Beatles. In addition, in the music of Oasis a great influence can be guessed. The Who, as well as The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Stone Roses, The Smiths and The Kinks.
