Queen is a British rock band that rose to prominence in the mid-1970s and is one of the most successful bands in the history of rock music. Mass media call the group "cult" and write that it still has hundreds of millions of fans. The group has released many studio albums, live releases and numerous compilations. A lot of Queen hits took first places in the charts of different countries. Each member of the group is the author of at least one hit that reached the top of the British charts. The band's live performances were also recognized as one of the brightest and most significant in the history of rock.
Queen's video clips are also widely known for their innovation in the field of special effects and editing. Video clip for the song filmed in 1975 "Bohemian Rhapsody" has been considered a pivotal in the history of music videos, and its success has inspired the industry.
After the death of Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury, the group practically ceased studio activities: in 1997 the group recorded a new single as a trio "No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)", after which John Deacon retired from the music business. In 2004, Brian May and Roger Taylor revived the band, launching the collaboration project Queen +, performing both proven hits and new material with guest vocalists.
The band's first frontman on this project was blues singer Paul Rogers, with whom the new studio album The Cosmos Rocks was recorded, received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
Since 2011, the line-up has been performing with Adam Lambert under the name “Queen + Adam Lambert”. Studio recordings it was not carried out with him at the time of 2019, but the group does not exclude such a possibility.
