Sir Barry Alan Crompton Gibb is a British and American singer, songwriter and producer, one of the founders of the Bee Gees band.
Barry Gibb and his brothers continued to perform with varying success until 2003, when Maurice passed away. After his death, Barry and Robin tried to revive the band in 2009 but it did not come to real projects and joint performances. After Robin's death in May 2012, Barry was the only one a live member of the Bee Gees. In 2013, he embarked on his first solo tour of North American cities, which he dedicated to the memory of the brothers. Currently performing solo.
In 2007, the publication ranked him 38th on the list of the 100 Greatest Singers of the 20th Century. In the Guinness Book of Records, he is in second place on the list most successful songwriters after the Sir Paul McCartney. On June 25, 2019, The New York Times Magazineruen named Barry Gibb among hundreds of performers whose material was reportedly destroyed during fire at Universal Studios Hollywoodruen 2008.
