Mariah Carey is an American singer, songwriter, music producer, actress, and philanthropist. In 1990, under the direction of Columbia Records label chief executive, released her debut album Mariah Carey, which received a four-time platinum certificate and included four hit singles, which won first place in American Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Following the success of Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994) albums she was named the most commercially successful musician in the history of Columbia Records.
A duet with the Boyz II Men band for the second single “One Sweet Day”, released from the Daydream (1995) album, entered the history of music: their joint song took a record number of weeks in first place on the Billboard Hot 100.
In December 2019, the song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart 25 years after its debut in 1994 and became her 19th charttopper of the American hit parade - in this indicator it is second only to The Beatles legendary band, who led the United States 20 times.
