Benjamin Haggerty, better known by the Macklemore nickname, was formerly known as Professor Macklemore, an American rapper and musician. He began his solo career in 2000. First released mixtape, then three mini-albums and two albums without the support of major record companies.
From 2005 to 2008, he did not continue his musical career for health reasons, in 2008 he returned to music, starting to work with producer Ryan Lewis. Later released several records. His "Thrift Shop" video becomes very popular on Youtube, gaining over 1 billion views. In the United States, the single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with sales of over 7 million copies - this is the first time since 1994, when the song gets to first place in the US charts without any support from a major label. After which he gained wide fame and acquired an incredible number of fans around the world.
