Leftfield is an English duo that has had a considerable influence on the formation and development of electronic music, consisting of Paul Daley (he also worked in the projects of The Rivals, A Man Called Adam and The Brand New Heavies) and Neil Barnes, founded in 1989 in London.
Initially under the name Leftfield, Neil Barnes released the single "Not Forgotten", but a little later Paul Daley joined him. Under this pseudonym, the band released two albums - "Leftism" and "Rhythm & Stealth".
They were among the first progressive house musicians with strong dub and reggae influences. Together with Orbital, The Prodigy, Underworld and The Chemical Brothers were part of the so-called "electronic superbands" cohort.
Since 2000, the band has ceased all studio activities due to disagreements between the members.
In 2015 they returned with the album "Alternative Light Source" and released fine album This Is What We Do in 2022.
